    New to gunsmithing

Recently I was browsing the sporting goods department at the Wal-Mart and noticed a book on gunsmithing. Well, now my dad has become interested in learning the basics and I was wondering if anybody could suggest a good source of information for the beginner?

Gunsmithing school right here in California at a community college. I just graduated in May my self. They have a 2 year program that is very extensive, and they also have some summer classes if you want to learn a specific gun, like 1911's or M1A's.

Be leery of those books, some of the books I've seen out there are hogwash. Or even if they are good, you need to have a strong understanding of some of the principals or you can really mess things up.

AGI videos are great too. They have general topic videos as well as ones for each gun. You can get them straight from them (www.americangunsmith.com) or thru many retailers
