Big thanks and a noob reloading Question

First just wanted to say thanks to everyone at calguns, with the information i found here i have started to reload.

So the nood reloading question, I have a dillon 550b a friend gave to me, I have adjusted all of the dies, lube up all if the joints and have even loaded a few rounds. The problem I'm having is that every once and a while the primers are not dropping correctly, the primers fall behind the primer seating punch and i end up loading a shell with no primer. Any tips on adjusting the primer system, or did i just miss something in my setup. Thanks agian.

    Welcome to the forum.

Make sure that the inside primer tube is correctly installed. There is a plastic tip that needs to be installed correctly. Insert the tube and gently turn it until it falls into place. About an 1/8" more. Then snug the bolt on top.

Besides that, just make sure the primer slide is clean and not oiled.

I've adjusted the operating rod to allow the primer slide to move slightly further back on the downstroke. By adjusting, I removed the operating rod and bent it just a hair.

Make sure that the plastic tip on the primer feed tube still has the little alignment tab (a little vertical plastic rail that aligns to the slot in the primer feed base) that holds it in the right direction.

Also disassemble the feed tube from the primer feed base and clean out the base assembly. Sometime primer and powder residue gets caught in there and keeps the primer slide from going all the way back to pick up the primer.
