Brass service?

How many of you use one? 30.00 for 1k rounds seems pretty decent. With my bad back I think it would save me some pain at the bench.
Another question is, how long would it take you to "prep" your brass? Im talking full boat no missed steps. Thanks guys!

i just finish about 800-900 rd of brass, it took me about 8-10 hrs...thats with a lee zip trim...(all this was done spread out tru 1 week)..does this sound about right? anyone

i still need to swagge primer pocket, im waiting on my dillon super swagger should be here today..i thinking i still need another 2-3 hrs to finish...this s*ucks

I don't have a super swage, so if I had that much brass I'd use one.

People that do it for $30 per 1k are using a 1050. To fully process 1k of .223 on a 650 with a super swagger would take about 3 hours.

$30 is nothing. Matt with Bulletheads.com does mine and worth every penny.

$30 is actually too cheap. I was offering it at $40 and then people came in at $30. Even on a 1050 it still takes about 90 minutes to process plus time to unbox, rebox, delube. I think when more people start reloading and people start working more farming out processing will increase and should support a higher price. Unless the price of brass cased ammo goes below $275. My $.02.

Any service you might use is probably waaaay over-sizing your brass (for your particular gun/chamber), which will result in slightly degraded accuracy and greatly reduced brass life.

If you just want plinking ammo, that's probably OK though, and will save you a lot of time and trouble.

But if you're chasing accuracy, you should probably be measuring your fired cases with the Hornady tools and sizing them so you push the shoulders back no more than a couple/few thousandths -- just enough to chamber reliably. Which means doing it all yourself.

It depends on what you're trying to do I guess.

Maybe so, although I'm not a precision bolt shooter and am looking for 1-1.5 MOA consistent performance with 77gr SMKs. My brass service keeps my LC 09 separate from mixed so some consistency is there.

I hear you... I tend to be a little compulsive about stuff, which is probably why I "get off" on reloading...

If you're getting 1 to 1.5 MOA out of brass from a service, that's pretty darn good.
