Need help with 10mm recipe

I have 500 165gr X-treme bullets and I can't seem to find any load data for 165gr.

I'm using Winchester 231, and I read that I should just use data for the next heavier bullet. Any ideas?

x-treme= lead cast, yea? only data i have is for accurate arms powders for 165 lead in 10mm.

Sorry, they're copper plated.

copper plated uses cast lead data, though so, functionally equivalent? still no help to you unless you use AA powder thought, i'm going by the lee load book.

A published recipe that I have used for several years is: 180gr Rainier flat point, 11.0 gr of AA-7, max. WLP, Starline brass, crimp to .421, 1.250 OAL. This gives a bullet speed of right on 1200 fps. My friend is trying AA-9 right now. Both AA-7 & AA-9 meter very accurately. Have fun.

FWIW: I found some of the guys on Glock 10mm reloading go way past published data, sometimes with no data. Be very careful with a high pressure load. Sometimes you can find hotter loads in older reloading manuals. I am just not willing to push the load past it's maximum PSI just to get 100 fps more. My .02

As Mike Mcnett stated with Double Tap: On his load data:

PLEASE drop all of my loads by 2.0gr and work up in .5gr increments until pressure signs raise their ugly head, then back off by .5gr! Hope this helps.

And it's always a good Idea to chrono your loads!

No.
Max for 180 gr (5.6 gr) is below starting load for 165 gr (5.9).

Looks like I can use this, and take 10% off for being plated.

I would stay with the slower powders at the bottom of the page. Some of the guys on Glock 10mm like Power Pistol.
