    Lube neck for bullet seating?

I'm being told that for proper bullet seating consistency you need to lube the inside of the neck, preferably with a dry lube.

I checked my books and see no mention of this.

The imperial dry lube says it's for neck sizing.

FWI this is for long range rifle loads.

I've never lubed for bullet seating.

I've never heard of lubing the neck either. I've never done it, and my bullets seat just fine.

Lubing the inside of the case neck helps during the resizing . It will help keep case neck stretch to a minimum, increasing case life. I would bet there is enough residue lube left in the case neck for the bullet. Spray lubes work well for getting some lube inside the case neck.

No. You can lube for neck expansion though.

+1, lubing inside the neck is all about the expander ball doing a good job during sizing. It has absolutely nothing to do with bullet seating. Lube is not needed for bullet seating.
