so a guy told me you cant reload millitary brass because the crimp is different and it requires a special die or something. i want to call BS on him but being new to reloading i didnt want to say anything. is he right? i still doubt him. my moron meter really went off when he wouldnt shoot my AR because it was a 1/9 twist he said "i only shoot 1/7" and when i asked him the difference it made he didnt know.

your bs meter is correct. you just need the reamer to remove the primer pocket crimp. there are plenty out there to chose from. its just time consuming. -
You're dealing with a moron. 264 Grendel is correct on the brass preperation issue and the 1:7" twist to 1:9' twist question is immaterial unless you're shooting long, heavy bullets.Frank

I've tried the large primer version of this and it is pretty good. It only takes a twist or two to remove the crimp.

Edit: What kind of a d-bag says "I only shoot a 1/7"? Unbelievable.Ronald Reagan once said that the most terrifying words in the English language are: "I'm from the government and I'm here to help".

1 in 7 ?
Well, I only shoot 1 in 8. That's because I shoot competition. I have the Dillon swedge which I use a lot.I won't be wronged
I won't be insulted
And I won't be laid a hand on.
I don't do these things to other people, and I require the same from them.....John WayneComment

I understand shooting a particular twist for competition. My point was about someone who refuses to take a few plinking shots at the range since it's the wrong twist. That's just too much...Ronald Reagan once said that the most terrifying words in the English language are: "I'm from the government and I'm here to help".
