Newb Reloader 50AE vs Bullseye powder

Ok so Long story short im new at reloading and just finished reloading 40 50AE rounds it all went rather smoothly tho i have made a huge newb mistake. I have underestimated the huge differences in powders. I caught this when i was moving on to reload some 44mag rounds and noticed that some of the charge info was close to the 50AE (by a couple grains) well to get to the point i have now read that Bullseye in 50AE may cause the gun not to cycle properly (im ok with this doing single shots my not be a bad thing for 40 rounds) what i am worried about is the load. the 44mag calls for 8.9gr what do you all think is a safe load for 50ae? if you all come back with the numbers i think im betting im going to be pulling some bullets.

I looked at handloads.com and there was no data for Bullseye with 50 AE.
You should pull all of them and get a more appropriate powder.

Where did you get your data?

Slow-burning powders are REQUIRED to generate enough gas volume to properly cycle the gas-operated action. Bullseye is not a slow-burning powder.
Suggest you do some more research with printed reloading manuals.

Only powders listed in the lyman book are 2400, AA#9, h-110, AA-1680, IMR-4227. Lee book adds v-N110 and v-N120

Unique and Bullseye are not even close to being the same. You can blow up guns with Bullseye loads in the ranges that Unique is loaded to.

Bullseye is quite a bit faster burning and max loads by weight are about 15%-20% lower than Unique loads.

Check out the Alliant website for both powders information.

You really should go back to the store and jam the can of Bullseye up the salesman's ***.

NEVER NEVER TAKE ANYONES load info as FACT.. ALWAYS go to powder mfg or bullet mfg web site and look it up.

Bullesye is WAY to fast for 44 or 50.
get bullet puller and take them apart and load NO more till you understand differnces in powder burn rates or at least get a good load manual or 2 and read them.

I get the loadbooks USA for what I'm loading, take it with to the store, and use that to help pick powders...handy reference and only about $6 or so each.

I use H110 for my 44 mag and 50AE loads. I have never seen any 50AE loads that call for Bullseye powder.

Ok i got all of the rounds apart i got some 2400 with some good reload data and a digital scale. (i was not happy with the lee one that came with the kit) i am now on my way to safely doing this. I do have to say i am going to try the bullseye in a couple 44 rounds as i have proper data for that just to see how it works and i think i will use it in my smaller hand gun rounds once i get started reloading those. Thanks All for your helpful hints
