It is fine to do so.A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

It's not a bumb question. It's perfectly fine to do so. I use to make a ring around my brass and shotgun hulls so I can identify them easier when there on the ground. All I do now is make a red sharpie mark over the primer now because it's easy to do when there in an ammo box.Cowboy Action Shooter
