    Reloading saves $ yet again...

Back in about 1970, my dad bought a new deer hunting rifle: A Rem 600 in 6.5 Rem Magnum. Great little carbine, but the dead-end caliber made it an expensive dinosaur to shoot.

Ah, but with some dies I picked up cheap, some brass, 140grn Nosler Partitions and a dash of H380... today was a little date with the Rem 600 at Angeles.

A nice little shooter is revived!

Same goes for rounds like 50/70, 32 Winchester Special, and some others like that. You pretty much have to reload if you want to shoot those affordably.

    Ain't reloading grand?

      That Mohawk

Mohawk 600 carbine is a great rifle. I have one in .308 that I turned into a scout rifle. I'am also about to reload some fresh food for her.

Yeah, now I'm looking at Gunbroker for my own 600... and .308 is most common caliber I see. The .223s are crazy expensive as very few were made. I'll see if I can find another in 6.5 Rem Mag.
This was my dad's rifle and it's now my sister's. She'll hand it down to my nephew in a few years and we just wanted to make sure it worked properly and that we could feed it in the future. Will make a great little hunting rifle for him when he's of age.

Anything that is not a Walmart caliber will save you money. You won't believe what premium 375 H&H ammo goes for.
