Nope. Surplus M2 ball from the CMP is the best deal out there.

Why not just get Greek HXP? It shoots more accurate than the LC the CMP has been selling for the past couple years. Better brass, too.

I've seen some nasty LC M2 ball, specifically the LC69 and later headstamps. People have pulled bullets on some of the M2 from the last couple years of its production and some have had mixed powders (ball and extruded). Not good for the Garand gas system.

Orion 7 was the company that made a deal with CMP for the LC ammo. They have a good supply in stock, but..........since CMP ran out, they raised the price to $70 can +$15 shipping!

http://www.m1garandrifle.com/Garandparts.htm Scroll to the bottom of the page for the ammo.

I was lucking and got a GOOD supply of the LC built up. But I will be using it in the 1919s (which it was made for in the first place) and not the Garand. I have a good supply of HXP for those guns and CMP still has 60 million rounds in stock to sell at $55 can+$9 shipping.

To order ammo from the CMP you need to be at least 18 years old, a US citizen and a member of a CMP affiliated club.
No, I don't think I'll ever get over Macho Grande.

I thought it was J&S Sales that had the deal for parts and traded for surplus ammo. I see their sight has some of it in CMP packaging. J&G Sales. Wonder if both companies didn't supply CMP with parts for the upcoming "select" grade Garands?

They are both involved. Also it was for commercial .30 carbine ammo as well. They needed something to feed the M1 carbines, so the Wolf and Aquila ammo that CMP now sells were part of those trades. I think that is where J&G really came in on the deal.
