    6mm PPC from Russian 220 or 7.62x39?

Reloading for a 6mm PPC, and the Brass is not only hard to find, but usually if found...it is expensive.

    Anyone re-sized Russian 220 or 7.62X39 to 6mm PPC?

How do you do it? (What Dies...More than One Die???)

Most Importantly: Is It Worth It????

I've got some brass made from 7.62...but never seen any Russian 220. What size is the Flash Hole on the 220? Is it the same size as 6mm PPC-USA?

I'm far from any kind of expert, but I'm thinking a 6.5 Grendle sizer might be a good first step down. I would guess your 6mm PPC die could finish it. From what I've read you may need to turn the necks if they are too thick. The older Remington 7.62X39 brass had the small primer pocket, but what I have seen lately they have gone to the LR primers. Keep an eye out for the older Rem brass. HTH

220 Russian is the way to go. Is this for a Benchrest rifle? Check to see if it is a tight neck 6ppc, then you will need to turn necks to work in chamber. Here is a good link for the process.

        Thanks to both of you.

No, this is not for benchrest only...I do hunt with it.

After reading MUD's Link, seems like a lot of work....so probably not worth the effort.

A lot of work, and no appreciable benefit.
