OK, another 550 versus 650 thread

OK, I would say based on your caliber choices that the 650 would be fine for you.

I would only recommend the 550 if you were gonna' be changing primer sizes all over the place and cranking out a lot of different calibers and especially if you want to reload 30-06 or .270 length rifle calibers.

Alternatively, you could get one 650 for small primer pistol, another one for large primer pistol and a 550 for all your rifle loading

There is some truth to the point about the 650 being much easier to have problems with when you are new to progressive reloading. The point here is the 650 is more complicated and requires a little more from the user in getting it sorted out.

Business-wise, I don't blame Brian Enos for tending to steer new progrsesive owners into a 550 if their shooting volume isn't high (under 2-3k a month). The 550 makes for a whole lot less customer service issues when a new customer is learning the way of the bulk reloading beast.
