I'm only killing paper. So usually I load mild to moderate loads. But I ended up with some winchester 296 powder which is only good for hot rounds. Just shot some 180 grain xtp .44 magnum loads with 29.0 grains of 296. Only shot six of them before moving on to something more sedate. But man those were some fun rounds, nice boom and flash.

No reason to over/under load. That is what the load charts are for.
Reloading requires care but not a moon suit.

I am not into reloading yet.

But i doubt i would have the confidence to juggle stuff. Over pressure and it goes ka-boom! Under-pressure, and it lodges in the barrel and the next round will kaboom by barrel.

So there is a good chance I will get a kaboom should I mess up.

Dang, that's got to be some ZIPPY ammo.!..most .44 is 240 grain. I did notice Hornady XTPs were getting more expensive. Even for the 10MM I reload a box of 180XTPs cost $23.

I loaded up some 296 stoked .357 Magnums with 125 grain bullets at 1600 FPS or so, in the TC Contender for long range Silhouette shooting, always a crowd pleaser!!!!!!!
The 158's were more accurate though. Blue Dot is pretty impressive as well.

Yes, the hot loads, on occasion, are a lot of fun. :-) I've got a .45 Colt load that uses a very healthy dose of 2400 powder under a 250gr cast boolit. After about 25 of those, I'm ready to call it quits, but those 25 sure are a good time!
