RCBS .45 seater die question

I'm a newb working on my first .45 reloads. I am using a RCBS carbide die in a lee single stage press. The RCBS seater die I have, comes with a seater plug pak. In the pak are two seater plugs that you can screw into the seater die. One of these seater plugs is marked 44/ 45 RN and the other one marked 44/ 45 SWC. What function does each seater die have? And which one do I use with 230 gn. cast lead bullets, to be used in a 1911? I do plan to use a taper crimp if that makes amy difference.

Seems like you have more problems than just the seater plug. You really should read the manual before you start something so dangerous as reloading.

You didnt even list the nose of the bullet you plan to use. I suppose Round Nose so then you would use the Round Nose plug.

uh if you use the flat one with lead round nose they get flattened a tad

if you use the round with the flat nose lead you may see little marks

The RN plug is for Round Nose bullets. The SWC is for Semi Wad Cutter bullets. The RN plug is smooth and concave. The SWC plug is for flat nosed bullets.

I'm going to assume you're using round nosed 230 grain bullets so use the RN plug. But be sure to check your bullet info before using the proper plug.

Hell yes I have more problems than I deserve. I really did mean to include that I am using round nose bullets, a newb oversite. I have read "ABC of reloading" and the Lyman's manual and have tried to gain as much knowledge online as possible. I have been reading the RCBS reloading dies instruction sheet over and over and no where does it explain which seater plug to use. All it really says is that this style allows for easy cleaning. I'm new but I do understand that reloading can be a dangerous undertaking and I feel I'm giving it the respect it deserves.
So the RN stands for round nose? What about SWC? ....wad cutter, maybe? Are there different styles of seater dies, ones without screw in plugs? There is so much to learn and I hope people will understand what might be common knowledge to some is new information to me.
