    Ar Reloading:twist Vs. Bullet Wt.

I''ve searched, but can't find a "definitive" answer. 16"BBL=1/7; 20"BBL=1/8; 20"BBL=1/9. Loading Hornady 52,55,62,68,75,80gr. bullets & Sierra 77,80gr. bullets. This may be a lot to ask, so ANY real educated/experienced help would be highly appreciated (not to mention saving me a lot of LONG range testing & component(s) $$$$$$), so could some badass AR-15 reloader out there either match the above up for me; or a link which provides the same would be great. Tanx.

General rule is the faster the twist the heavier the bullet. That being said you should not shoot a 77 grain bullet threw a 1/9 twist barrel. You can but it may not stabilize the bullet flight and loose accuracy.

Check the ammo oracle for more information.

This is what works for me....

        1X9 50gr up to 69gr....for 69gr on up to 90gr use the 1 X 8 or the 1 X 7.7 which is the same as 1 X 8
