DE XIX Likes Heavy

Shot 350 gr loads this weekend - projectile is for .500 S&W - DE did fine. Seems the DE likes the heavier rounds. Currently loading 300 gr for .44. Eye-balling the new muzzle brake from MRI too.

Tried loads at 100 yds - trajectory was good - just using iron sights.

For the Deagle people here - did you find the DE seems to perform better with the heavier rounds?

Very hit or miss. I was shooting a heavy factory load through a chrome plated DE .50 and it failed to cycle about ever 4th or 5th round.

You really have to find the hot rounds for this thing. Miwall usually has +P reloads at that the gunshow that work really well in my .44.

OK - here it is (your mileage may vary):

Brass: Starline
Primer: CCI-350 Mag
Powder: IMR-4227 (gotta cycle that piston)
Bullet: 350 gr. Hornady #50100
Charge: ~ 29 gr.
(this is obviously .50 AE Recipe)

My .44M recipe seems to have more problems with IMR-4227 than the .50 AE. I am currently trying H-110 on my .44M - haven't shot 'em yet.

just used some fiouchi 44mags in 240 gr really pos stuff kept getting fte ftl any body else here used magtech they seem to be fine on mine i'm a newbie to DE stuff so I'm curious

There's a recommended list of ammo from IMI that came with the early guns; all of those will cycle and load. I'm making my own loads with 800X very close to the max load with 240Grn flat nose for my 44mag. No problems at all.
