    Reloading 223= Awesome!!

hey guys just got done loading my first set of rounds ever with my Dillion 550b i got from a cal gunner. all i gotta say i love it , its as addicting and relaxing as everyone said it was. i got a little carried away, i loaded 23 rounds when i was only planning on doing 5-10 to test out my powder load. hell if they don't work ill pull em apart and have fun reloading them again. anyways i used 22gr +-.1 with 55gr winchester bullets, i decided on 22gr because it is in the middle of the min and max load. Anybody use a load similar to this, how do you like it?

    anyone use these

i bought it and used it to set the resizing die to make a close fit to my chamber so there is minimal stretching on the cases when shooting out of my msar, hopefully making them last longer.

well just wanted to say thanks to everyone in this area, all the posts helped me understand and learn alot about reloading.

you might want to think about loading a few different charges so you can get a little more test data your first time out. then take the best out of those and tweak em till you are happy. then go hog wild on that 550 and have a bunch of ammo that works great in your gun!

Welcome to the Brother Hood. It is a sickness and you will never save money, but you will shoot more and with better accuracy, plus enjoy the personal satisfaction of rolling your own ammo!

Don't just size to exact fit chamber depth. Make sure you actually set the shoulder back about 2 thousandths compared to a fired case from THAT rifle. Proper headspace clearance for a semi-auto should be in the 2-3 thousandths range.

You reloaded without knowing your case length? Is it brand new brass?

how accurate is the powder drop on those?

I do not trust the powder measure I have from lee it will be off sometimes.

Nice racks are much better. You can grab both sides of the rack to help stabilize while mounting.

i tested it about 50 times its always right around 22gr, usually + or - .1gr, but everyone says thats normal, i dont know how trusting i am of it either thats why i checked it so much, it would be nice to have a powder check like the dillion 650 has.
