Fine walnut for my AR rifle.

Fine walnut and corncob for pistol. (If I have any laying around).

Bottom line, as long as the brass is clean, that is fine with me. All this purdy "fine polishing stuff" is not productive for me, as I blow-off 300 to 400 rounds when I practice.

Bolt action rifle brass...well...that's a different story. I am tumbling my .308 in the wifey "Thumblers Tumbler".

1 1/8" corn cob with a cap full of Dillon's Rapid Polish for a couple of hours. I finally got smart and put the tumbler on a time clock.

Neither. I soak used, de-primed brass in hot cider vinegar for 20 minutes or so (occasionally I forget about it and it soaks for an hour). Rinse twice, wipe with a rag and let air-dry for at least 24 hours. It never comes out looking like new but the guns don't seem to care.

I use a homemade vibrating cleaner with uncooked rice as media for 1 to 2 hours.
The starch in the rice keeps the dust down.
