I finally got my 550B set up enough to run some 10MM. This 550B was purchased by me back in 1994; never opened the box (wife got ill;we moved) so it and a bunch of other GUN stuff went into storage. (including a hardly used Dillon 1050 set up for .45 auto)
Being that my middle daughter is in her last year of college and my youngest has an interest in shooting (at 13 she can field strip her Glock 17; lock, load and fire
) (her GLOCK was built in 1992..
) And one of my new interests was getting the GLOCK 20 running this last summer...I suddenly found out 10MM was very RARE and EXPENSIVE....so rare I simply could not find it anywhere; unless it was a gun show or Ammo Brothers...even then I wanted something more than 'Range Ammo' which to me seemed like shooting .40--- (which is ok, except I already have several 40s; I wanted to shoot 10MM..)!
So my man-cave-workshop-airplane-factory had an empty table just large enough for my 2 Dillon machines. The problem with the 550B after I opened the box had a new set of dies inside for .308 rifle....arrg..so I bought some new .40/10mm dies....also in the 16 year span, several new options became available for the 550B....a metal Hi mount Stand..and an electric case feeder..had to have them. Went over to the STOCKADE (nice bunch) and bought them. Also ordered a conversion kit in .40/10mm...from dillon. (very nice bunch)...like a DUMMY I missed a few items but got the machine up and running (without the case feeder...I forgot to order the plastic adaptor on the bottom of the plastic tube; it's on its way tomorrow from dillon)
But I decided to set up the dies, install what I could and load some 10MM last night. My daughter decided to be the Bullet Feeder; worked out just fine.
I weighed the charge every 10 rounds....perfect at 10 grains.
Here is the load:
Starline Case
CCI Large pistol primers
155 Grain copper plated RNFT bullets (Extreme..?)
10 grains of AA #5
1340 FPS (according to the AA manual and some info from Mike at DoubleTap)
OAL 1.250
Forgive the mess; I plan to organize and clean up after the fresh parts for the Dillon 1050 are installed. Maybe today.
I was talking to Mike over at Dillon Precision; He said they have noticed a BUMP in orders from California. We all know why, don't we..
75 Rounds of fresh 10MM

Both Dillon machines...actually the 550B is TALLER than the 1050...(?)
