    Reloading 10MM advice.....

Ok, I dug out my Dillon press (two in storage)...and I have decided to set up my 550B to reload 10MM. I've ordered the .40/10mm Caliber Conversion Kit from Dillon and bought a 3 carbide Die Set (RCBS) from Ammo Brothers.

While digging thru boxes of 'Stuff' I also found my Primer stash; and the following powders: (from the early 1990s)

    8 pounds of Bullseye
    1 pound of Unique
    4 pounds of AA #5

(and I know these are supposedly rifle powders: AA 2015br, AA2460, AA Nitro 100 )

I will be ordering some 175 grain Winchester SilverTips; I do have some Hornady XTP 180 grain (#40040) as well.

I can't find my box of .40 jacketed ammo yet. So I may have to purchase some bulk boolits somewhere.

I would like some recipe's for the bullseye, unique and AA 5. My old AA reloading manual (from 1994. Number 1) has powders in it that no one stocks anymore. Did the names change...?...

I've been looking locally for some AA Number 7; no luck. I did buy some Power Pistol the other day, $26 bucks for one pound...arrg..

Any favorite loads with my available powders..?

    Thanks in advance.!
May the Bridges I burn light the way.

the powder you have is probably not ideal for the best velocities, but ive found a ton of 10mm loading info here-

Like above, these powders are less than ideal for a nice warm 10mm load. Unique is probably your best bet. Just throw down and buy some Longshot or Blue Dot and get the most out of the cartridge. 9.5 grains of Longshot with a 180g. FMJ or JHP bullet is my favorite. Good for 1300fps out of a G20.

        Hey Bob,

i'll have my load data for longshot for 10mm. i'll PM you tomorrow with the data.

135gr = 1800fps. 155gr = 1600fps. no data on 180 or 200 yet. if i get some bullet for that weight, i'll get some load data for it.

the load data is from my G29.

          My only load for 10mm with #5 is 8.0 with a 180g LSWC / WLP / mixed cases (Win, Rem , Fed) for 1050fps from a 5" 1911.
          Plinking load.

          The 2002 Accurate guide shows:

          175g lswc
          OAL 1.245 7.5min 1073 - 8.3max 1166

          135 JHP
          OAL 1.250 10.3min 1383 - 11.4max 1503

          155 JHP
          OAL 1.250 9.0min 1227 - 10.0max 1334

          170 JHP
          OAL 1.250 8.7min 1173 - 9.7max 1275

          200 Hornady XTP

I just started to reload 10mm myself. I used Berry's 180 gr FP with BLue dot 9.0gr and got 1145 average. When I increased it to 9.3 I was at 1200. 8.5gr for the 200gr XTP's and an average of 1100. I also loaded 7.7gr of 800x with Berry 180gr and was getting 1130 average. I actually liked the results with the 800x more and was getting great groups with it. I just loaded another 100 last night with that as well as some 8gr with 200gr xtp's. I scale each load though and have heard 800x is not too easy to meter. Check out powder valley.
