IDPA Power floor

Hello,

I want to start shooting IDPA and I wanted to use my reloads for competition. The problem is I dont have a chronograph so I wouldnt know if my reloads meet the minimum power floor. I was wondering if you folks could help me out. Right now I have 200 gr. lswc and Bullseye for my powder. I was wondering if anyone has used this combination and could let me know about how many grains of bullseye I would need to reach the minimum power floor of 165,000 for CDP. With using a 200 gr. lswc, I would need the bullet to reach at least 825 fps. Thanks.

From a 5" barrel:
Bullseye
200 grain LSWC from Bulletworks
4.6 grains= 850FPS+-
4.8 grains= 900FPS+-

Your results may be different, however it is a starting point. I shoot IDPA at a club level and have never had my ammo checked.

5 grains of Bullseye was the standard for Military 230 grain Ball Ammo for years.

dang, I'm using 4.1 grains..... I guess for IDPA I will have to step it up a notch

I've never had ammo checked at a local match. I have not been to a state level match. I suspect they chrono ammo at state matches.
