    Tula .223 75gr HP

Tula .223, 75gr, hollow point, steel cased, boxer primed, non corrosive

I just noticed these rounds on sgammo.com.

I can't seem to find any reviews out there about them

So I wondered if anyone had shot them around these parts and what there experience was with them.

Toy is a DDM4 16 inch 1 in 9 twist. Not worried about the whole steel cased thing. Just wondering if anyone has used this particular round?

    Cheers Ahead

    Tula

This is only a rumor. The other day we were out shooting swede 6.5 X 55 and the other guy was shooting Tula. He said it was produced by the Swiss

75gr bullets may, or may not properly spin stabilize in a 1:9 twist bbl. I would recommend at least a 1:8 twist to shoot heavier than 70gr ammo in a .223/5.56 rifle. Stick with the Wolff 62gr stuff for a 1:9 twist bbl IMHO.

Has anyone actually used the 75gr Tula ammo in any barrel.

I don't get why people argue the whole steel case thing!
It's the projectile it's self that you need to worry about, ever noticed how it sticks to a magnet? Why because it has a steel rod in it? No because the Russians don't use pure copper in their bullets! It has a lot of Iron in it and it wears your rifling away with every shot!!!

Steel cases have been proven to only cause pre-mature wear on the extractor claw. The chamber damage issue is an old wives tale.

Steel jacketed ammo has been tested by the military and no big problems were found compared to copper clad.
