    AK Trigger Slap - Fixed!

OK - I put together a nice AKM from a Romy G kit and an NDS3 receiver. It functioned flawlessly - except for some irritating trigger slap!

Using my Google-fu, I did some research yesterday, and found the solution (and it does not involve replacing the trigger).

    See: http://www.gunsnet.net/Linx310/slapfix.htm

Essentially, you take a Dremel and mill down the notch on the back of the disconnecter. Took me about 20 minutes from start to finish (including taking apart the trigger assembly, etc.).

    Problem totally fixed!!!

Took it to the range last night and pulled off about 100 rounds - no problems whatsoever!

** Disclaimer - I am not a gunsmith - this fix worked for me - but may not work for you - not responsible for damage or injury!

or the other option would be to buy a tapco g2 single or double hook trigger and replace the crappy one

Century FCGs blow; they're really gritty and creepier than the Addams Family. For some reason, one of my Romanian kits included one of these FCGs, and I hated it. Although I have to say that the hammer is shaped nicely; it doesn't lock the bolt back and therefore doesn't need to be trimmed.

Yes, but then I would not have had all that fun with the dremel and file!

Personally, I'd like to see some reviews on the new NDS trigger groups.
