Haven't seen it but, I hope it was a flinter and not a caplock. It would be ashame to be able to make everything except your primers. Yea, I know there are ways of making priming caps (I have one) but, you need to start with red roll caps first. Making priming compound is extremely dangerous!

If it was a revolver than it wasn't a flintlock (I know, there are a some rare flintlock "revolvers" but, I'm sure the one in question wasn't one).

Yea, regular old paper caps can be used in as the primer compound when manufacuring your own priming caps. I have a set of dies to make my own caps but, I have 3000 or so caps so, I haven't tried making my own yet.

I remember when I was in the Army, fresh out of boot camp a few Sergeant's where talking about how the base bomb squad had been call out to a local high school's chem lab to dispose of some old chemicals. I laughed and told a few stories about what I did as a teachers aid in my chem class and even told them how easy it was to make Nitroglycerin in a school lab (or at home). They laughed at me at the time but the next day after one of them talked to his buddy on the bomb squad he came back surprised that I actually knew what I was talking about. I haven't messed with that kind of thing in many years but have a lot of fond memories. Lucky I didn't kill myself or land in jail. Even back then, it was really illegal.

CSA, I have a buddy who made his own BP. He retired after we had to nickname him Stumpy..Be Careful!
Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

I belong to the group that uses firearms, and knows which bathroom to use.
