    Resetting a full-length sizing die

I was using my Lee full-length sizing die to deprime some .223 when one case wasn't lined up enough and got stuck. I got the case out but when trying to reset the depriming rod I get it flush with the decapper screw and tighten as much as humanly possible for two people to do. It will be flush until I run a new case and then the rod slides up a bit. Am I missing a step or could this die be ruined?

Im not getting what's going wrong with yr dies. I know lee dies are junk and there deprimer rods are make out of cheap aluminum or steel. It would not surprise me if they are ruined about I'm just not sure what's going on.

Thanks for the tip but it's what I have for now and unless it's broken I'd like to use it. The depriming rod will not stay flush with the mount it goes into yet I have the screw torqued as hard as I can. It keeps slipping out of the die.

Unless it pops out to the point where it doesn't deprime or gets pulled out and stuck in the case, it works fine.

mrxxxxx --Before you bash something, you ought to learn the actual difference between aluminum and steel --
LLoyd -- Can I presume that when the decap rod slides up the case is still being deprimed? If so your tightening the lock nut so tight may be buggering up the relationship between rod and lock nut. the lock nut being a tapered collet tends to move futther towards the bottom of die as it gets tighter. Hope I have explained this clearer than mud :-)

Yeah. The case is definitely being deprimed just fine. I was just worried about sizing but I believe it's fine as well. Thanks.
