need some trim die help

No instructions came with the Redding trim die how do I use it? The cases won't fit all the way in? Do I have to use lube with this? I Bought this just to trim case length. Totally lost w/ this.

What caliber brass are you trimming? According to the Redding website that their trim die does not need to be resized in order to trim. But if I were you full resize it first and see if it fits afterwards. Unless you are neck sizing.
