    223 OAL with FMJBT w/Cannnalure?

I am using 55 grain FMJBT with cannnalure and one of my manuals an old Hornady gives OAL of 2.200. One of my new reloading manuals gives 2.250 as OAL. That seems like quite a difference. Any recommendations?

Loading for 5.56 Laure OBR with wylde chamber.

split the diff, bout 2.225. If you are long or short the cannulare wont be where it needs to be.

If you are going to crimp on the cannalure seat to the center of the cannalure. I think 2.250 is max mag length.

I center on cannalure, check in mag, and then its gtg for me.

OALs in books are a recomendation, or a MAX/MIN length.

Size it to what the gun likes.

          Thanks for responses.

I was thinking if OAL was to short I might increase pressures to much.

If these are hornady bullets the cannelure is positioned so that col is between 2.200 and 2.210. Outside that and the cannelure wont be positioned right. If you work up loads from minimum you should be fine

Are you sure those measurements are accurate?

I loaded my last batch to 2.223" with Hornady 55gr bullets and they were crimped into the cannelure.
