Bullet setback = high pressures = KaBoom. You risk losing your gun at the very least. Give it to someone has a bullet puller, and be done with it.

You are also loading +p ammo that's running higher pressure than the norm. I'm not sure how much setback your round has but, honestly why risk it for one round?

    Stay safe! ^^

There was a memo floating around regarding that since some LEO's unload their service weapon every night and reload every morning. Don't recall what the solution was... shoot them at the range every week or so?

After a week of doing that, I just knock the bullet back where it's supposed to be with my kinetic bullet puller, alittle sealant around the bullet, and toss the shell into a box for shootin' at the range next time I go.

You can chamber your HD rounds by hand instead of letting the slide load it in the chamber. That's what I do and have not experienced any bullet set backs.

there is 2 kinds of setback

            loading and mag bump

if you are firing hot loads (light weight gun/+p rounds)inertia of the bullet may tap themselvs on the front of the mag body

the other i think you are finding is the feeding bump when a bullet is slamming into a steep feedramp on the way to the chamber

how much set back are you noticing if its only about couple millimeters shorter than a fresh out of the box identical round i wouldnt worry about it if its more than say 1/8" i may have some concerns these measurements are only valid for the 45acp

Have you tested plenty of the pow'r ball rounds? Alot of XD owners have had ssues with the pow'r ball and hornady critical defense rounds feeding well.
