    Your 9mm handload recipe.

I just bought all the necessary parts to convert my Dillon XL 650 from .45ACP to 9mm Luger, and I'm wondering what your recipes for 9mm are. I've looked at Speer, Hodgdon, and Lymann loads, but I'd like to see what you guys are running.

What bullet weight? Don't forget to read the label right below the low primer warning system about the adjustment to the priming system.

Thanks for the heads up, and the weight I'd start with is 115gr. To be more specific, 115gr FMJ.

I use 124 grain lead with 3.8 grains of 231, just a low recoil steel plate load.

124 gr. cast lead wheel weights from a Lee TL356-124-2R, 3.8 grs. Titegroup, CCI 500 Sm. Pistol Primers, Win whoknowshowmany times fired cases with an AOL of 1.125 give or take a .001 here and there. These shoot off every time out of my SW9VE with little to no leading as far as I can tell.

4.4 gr W231 under a 124gr plated bullet. Cycles in every 9mm I have ever tried, yet notacably less recoil than factory ammo. Never chronoed it though. I've loaded (through a Dillion 650) and shot at least 50,000 rounds of this load.

I have been using 4.2gr if titegroup with 115gr FMJ and plated with OAL of 1.130. I have not chrono'd the plated, but the with FMJ I get 1130 FPS. This is with wolf primers, but I have 100,000 CCI primers on order. When I get those I will check em and see what I get.

124gr Montana Gold HP or 125gr LRN, 4.3grs HP-38 and Win primer is our standard IDPA load. Gives about 1090FPS out of 5" barrel 9mm 1911

I respect all these guys opinion. And they appear to be knowledgeable. But you should refer to either reloading manuals and or the web sites of the powder or bullet suppliers. Say if you asked that same question to someone outside this small circle of knowledge you may not get the right answer. IMO.

You are right, but sometimes the best data is not found in a book, like this one:

                          4.5gr of WST
                          124gr plated bullet

This is a very soft recoiling, clean burning, plinking round.

                            Haven't done any 115 FMJ

                            I've done lots of JHP.

                            115 JHP (Remington)
                            4.1 grains Titegroup
                            OAL = 1.075"
                            Ave speed = 1105 FPS (XD9 service)

I've stuffed about 700 of those through my XD's with no complaints.

124 Montana Gold on top of 4.0 grains of TiteGroup at 1.160" overall. Goes about 1,050fps out of a G17
