Yep. Dillon is well worth the money. I load .40 with mine all the time.

Actually, for 9mm, consider saving some pennies and go for a Pro 1000. I know the Dillon gear's good stuff and all, but so's the Pro 1000, and you can get a lot of reloading components with the money saved.

+1 to keeping your Rockchucker, though.

I have a Partner press, that I bell and crimp on. Rockchucker to size/deprime and seat projo's. I only reload for 9mm and .223 right now. Maybe .40 in the very near future. Can you say G35

I load 9mm on a 650 which is was love at first tight. When shoping I took the cry once approach and I am glad I did. 500 rounds an hour is no problem. That includes loading primer tubes and having the dies set. The only issue I get is an occasional sideways primer or of a nato crimped brass gets through when sorting. After comparing different powders and deciding on a 124g bullet I loaded 6.4 grains of HS-6. IIRC it got 1125fps out of a G19. It is very clean but spills easy and will jam up the shell plate. An occasional blast of canned air clears up the system and keeps things moving along.

Good stuff, I really like my Dillon 650 with casefeeder. I upgraded to a Strong Mount, Aluminum Roller Handle and Bullet Tray as well. For 9mm I can do 600 in less then an hour and close to 400 .223

Keep up the good work, also if you get a Dillon watch out you'll find yourself wanting to reload as often as you can. Buy once, cry once and rock and load

As others have said keep the RCBS press. A Dillon 550 is a good start on a progressive press. If you wanted to upgrade latter you can always sell the 550. I think it would be tough to find a 550 that didn't sell on these forums. Anyways, I had a 550 and eventually got a 1050. As you have mentioned in a round about way TIME is what was important to me is why I got a 1050. My kids were smaller and I got more family time. Now the kids are are older and don't need me around so much I suppose I could go back to the 550, but I didn't. I now have two 550's and four 1050's set up. To me its like a big screen TV. You just can't go backwards to a smaller TV!

Just setup my 650 to load 9mm within the last few days and have been finding the same thing. Not sure exactly where the problem lies (if I am not working the lever consistently or otherwise).

Anyone have any suggestions?

Dillon is good stuff. I own a SDB. However, I also own a LNL and it is my favorite, BY FAR. Don't shortchange yourself. At least look and the Hornady LNL. Check out this website: http://www.comrace.ca/cmfiles/dillon...Comparison.pdf

You could have dun it in two hours if you had used Hornady 147gr. XTP's or FMJ's. No belling, no crimping. Just prime, charge and seat.

I'm on the opposite end of the spectrum from you guys. I love my SS RCBS. I've thought about progressive but since I'm a low volume reloader. But and I say but I would consider a turret style press in the future.
