    9mm 115 gr

I was at the range yesterday a reloading conversation came up for 9mm powders. The guy said he would prefer Hodgdon Clays over Bullseye. Because of a faster burn.
I have a TMJ 115 gr and can not find any data for the this particular round using the Hodgdon Clays. Any ideas where else I can look. Went to the Hodgdon web site they had data for 115 gr for a GDHP (Gold Dot Hollow Point).
Could I use that data for GDHP for the TMJ?

As long as you aren't loading to max, it will be fine to use the data that you found. Are you an experienced loader? Loading with fast powder as you're mentioning can be quite dangerous. You run the risk of a double charge if you're not careful.

WST is my favorite powder for 9mm.

I will start low. I always check my powder charges. And I have a powder cop, which I religiously watch. Thanks for your concern.

As long as the bullet weights are the same you should be ok, but keep in mind that the OAL will vary between a hollow point load and a FMJ.

Should a shallow 1.150 be OK? Dont think I want an OAL 1.100. There is going to be some pressures.

I'd say 1.150 sounds plenty safe. I've found that 9mm FMJ lengths tend to vary a bit, even in new factory ammo lengths vary by manufacturer. I've never used the powder in question, but to me that sounds good for a OAL.

My criteria have always been based upon factory loads. I always keep one factory load in my die box. And a dummy load as well. And every factory load I have seen has been close to 1.150. From there I will increase powder charges if need be. But will start off low with the clays. I have bullseye pretty much dialed in. But this is the art of reloading. Not just because its cheaper. Its customzing and personlazation.

Factory loads are an excellent starting point. Sounds like you're already on the right path. Have fun.

One thing with bullseye is it is horribly dirty. Not sure if that is an issue to you.

I know once im done with this last pound of bullseye, im switching to 231.

Craigwood looks like already have a load plan. The only time I use Clays is for my #1 buckshot load since it burns clean and mild recoil.
