AB 962 and online ammo/reloading suppliers

I'm compiling a list of online ammo reloading suppliers' action on supplying ammo/reloading supplies to CA shooter after AB962 goes into effect. Feel free to reply with what you find, and I will update the original post.

We have not made a final decision yet. We are waiting to see whether an injunction will be issued and looking into exactly what the law entails. We hope to have a better idea around January. Thanks, Stephen

There will be some items that we will be unable to ship to California. Once the deadline get's closer we will review the law and see just what we can and cannot ship. There will be zero handgun ammuniton shipped, including the 7.62x39 cartridge since it is technically a handgun caliber thanks to Oly Arms, we do know that much.

I'm sorry that we currently do not ship ammo into certain counties in California. At this time I do not know if there will be a change in the company shipping policy for your state. Please check back with us after this February 2011 change is in effect. If you have any questions please contact us.

At this time it appears that ammunition is the only thing affected, not components. (When asked about rifle ammo) At this time probably no. Thompson Center Encores and other pistols that shoot rifle ammo cause some concern that your state might search for a loophole to be able to sue the gun industry. We will know more later.Thanks,

Thanks for your e-mail. We will have to comply with any laws and regulations that go into effect for the state of CA. If these items are banned from shipment into CA after that date, then we will be unable to ship them to you at that time. We do not have a copy of the law on file as of yet so I am unable to tell which items may be restricted. Thank you for your understanding.

I'm a little confused. Are you saying that Cabela's said they would still sell reloading supplies to us? Or won't they?

We will find out about Cabela, they are saying no ammo sale to CA in their catalog. Not sure about reloading though. Pending their email replies.

Received a Natchez catalog in the mail a couple of days ago. Sticker on the cover says "No more ammo sales to California from 1 Feb". Not sure if this is just marketing to get people to buy more or they don't realize it only applies to HG ammo....

The ban impacts only Handgun ammo (including dual-purpose) but it is likely most online retailers will simply
stop selling all ammo to California residents.

I contacted Powder Valley and got this reply:
Bob,
As you have stated and as we understand the legislation in it’s current form it is applicable to cartridges only.
We will continue to ship components to California until there is an application to components.

Dillon Precision

I talked to Mike at Dillon Precision (not THE Mike) the other day; he said they have noticed a large BUMP in reloading sales to California.
