I just picked up some supplies for reloading 7.62x54r, and have been reading that IMR 4895 is a good powder. So I picked some up, and went to get some load data, and realized, I can't find consistent numbers. I'm using 150gr Spire points (sierra pro-hunter .311 if that matters) and IMR4895 and have found "max loads" from different sources from 46.0-51.0 grains...I'm guessing the max is actually somewhere between the two, but guessing isn't good enough. Can someone look up a load for me in their manual and let me know what some RELIABLE data is?

My 7.62x54R One Book / One Caliber book for .308 150 gr Sierra list 42.2 - 47.0 gr. OAL of 2.900"
The above referenced Lyman book loads list a 2.87" OAL. They used a .312.Last edited by stewiegriffin; 10-23-2010, 7:49 AM.sigpicComment

That sounds like a lot more consistent information. Thanks you two. I'll start a little low and work up to 47.0Comment
