No reason at all to load them hotter. The gun is functioning well apparently, its cycling, providing adequate accuracy and you are having fun loading and shooting. No reason to mess with the equation.

Your boolit COL seems kinda short. Some mags will not feed them too well when they are that short.

Secondly, make sure the powder is burning thru-n-thru.

After 400 to 500 rounds, take your pistol apart and look at the residue.

Is it thick and nasty?

If so, you may encounter reliability problems later on.

Find the FPS that you are trying to achieve (for competitive shooters, it is dictated by the power factor), and then purchase a powder that will burn clean at that power factor.

You want the powder to burn 80% (at the minimum) to give you it's best results.

Wilson Combat recommends 1.245" for their magazines. (If memory serves me correctly).

I switched to RN boolits, and have my Rainier Ballistic 200-grainers at 1.242".

Id set them out a touch further, my XD likes 1.20. I know minimum for RN is usually 1.19, but with that light of charge, wont make much difference.

Xds like short rounds, expecialy with lead.

I run WW 231 5.5 gr and OAL on a 200 gr SWC SAECO is 1.240 works perfect

SWC, along with that OAL, will not work in an XD very well at al.

Did you actually weight the charges? Sometimes people use the charts that come with the Lee powder measure. I've found them to be somewhere close to 10% off. If the chart says 5 grains, when I weigh the charges, it's often down around 4.5 grains or so.

Of course if you weighed several of them, ignore this post.

My disc style powder measure hasn't thrown off 4.1 grains of bullseye. I measure every 15th round, over 2k loaded.

I have measured, I metered out around 20 throws of powder before I even put a casing into the press just to be sure.

From the not so awesome Lee safety scale, it looks like its throwing anywhere from 5.1 -5.3 grains of 231.

I think I will move to the next hole up which should put me around 5.5 grains.
