I went cheep, bought a shooting chrony F-1 it was under $100 and they will let you send it in for a better model at a later date. They also sell replacement parts (incase you brake somthing).
Q: What was the most positive result of the "Cash for Clunkers" program?
A: It took 95% of the Obama bumper stickers off the road.

CED makes good ones. I had a Chrony, had nothing but problems with it.
I now use an Oehler. If you can find an old Oehler on ebay for a reasonable price, jump on it.

There is one on ebay right now. Ends in 3 days. If you can get one like this for under $200, then it's a steal.

That Oehler 33 was state of the art back in 1988. Any of the cheap Chrony's will be more accurate and have better features.

That said, I use the CED M2. If you can't get an Oehler 35, it's the next best thing.

Respectfully, I have to completely disagree. The M33 was state of the art back in the 80's, but it is still better than most of the cheap equipment being made today.

The reason Oehler is superior is their screens are so much better than the ones most of the companies are making today.

I have a M33 and I guarantee it will miss less shots than any of even the most expensive chrono's being made today.

There's a reason that there is only one on ebay. People hold onto these old chrono's because they work so well. I wouldn't sell mine, and I've had more than a few offers, in which I could have replaced it with any CED.

Lovin that red neon screen. Makes me want to buy a lava lamp.

According to Oehler's web site, they've made a special run of their 35P (printer model) this year. If true, grab one. They're as good as it gets.

                          Edit:

I just called them and confirmed. They're making a limited number of 35P complete kits (including rail, stands, and carrying case) for $575. This is a limited time deal, so you might want to jump on it.

I was number 3 on that list, but decided to spend the money on other things, so I bailed out. I agree, the limited run of their 35's is a great opportunity. These are the machines that reloading manuals use. It doesn't get any better.

If I didn't already have an Oehler, I would jump on this deal in a heartbeat.
