    Georgia Arms?

Has anyone bought and used ammo from Georgia Arms?
They have some pretty good prices.

    Just wanted your opinion. Thanks

I bought 1200 rounds of their Gold Dots. I was putting up ammo where I need 800 or so factory rounds. At the time GA was having a big sale and free shiping and their box price was only a buck or so more than Blazer. Nothing like a 800 round proof of function for your carry ammo, plus a back stock of carry loads that will last for a decade or so.

      Its good ammo. Scarry accurate.

I have used several cases of their .223 canned heat, and a case or two of their .45 ACP +P Gold dot ammo. The new .45 is very good, I will buy it again. Plenty of power, and reasonably priced for +P ammo.

The .223 reloads were good. But I seem to see more and more reports of problems with it lately. I did like it because it was clean shooting, good power. But the more common reports of KBs from reliable people have left some people questioning it, and I have heard some tactical classes don't allow it any more. I don't know that I would get it again

The .308 reloads I always heard problems with. Something to do with the casings were too thin or something, I don't recall.

Are you kidding? They have blown up (6) carbines that I know of and (2) I have personally witnessed. Additionally, per company policy, they deny ALL responsibility.

You buy this stuff and your carbine will eventually blow. They use machine gun brass that has excessive headspace, it weakens the brass...I have pics of the blown carbines...

Wow! I'm happy I was to busy at work yesterday to order the ammo.

This is why I like Calguns!

Just an offhand statement about GA, nothing directed @ you. Their ammo is CRAP. Just a warning to fellow shooters...

                          Ok, that makes sense now.

I am curious about what happened to their ammo quality. A couple of years ago, they had a good rep on ARFCOM(for what that is worth), and myself and several other people in socal were doing group buys of their ammo. I went through 3-4 cases myself, the group through at least 40-50 cases, without any issues. Everything looked good. But I haven't bought any of their ammo in a year or more. All of the cases I examined still looked good after firing. It makes me wonder if we were all lucky, or if GA has changed something in their process, allowing more questionable cases to be used.

I wouldn't use Ammo Bros .223 reloads either, I know one person who had their AR go kaboom with it.

THIS would be my guess. With a shortage of brass, they accept any and all brass which is of a lower quality.

Ive seen some of the milspec cases that have been fired out of a screwed up SAW and they leave a ridge around the brass and is just about readyto break if it makes it through the reloader. My guy who does my reloads had to scold me about it and showed me one that screwed up his machine when it got stuck.
