Possum Hollow Kwick Trimmer - Awesome!

I have been researching case trimmers - automatic, manual and all the different variants. As is the case with most things in life, the better things in life are not cheap. As much as I wanted a Hornady or RCBS case prep station, they are too far out of my price range. Then I read about a hand trimmer called the Possum Hollow Kwick Trimmer that trims off the shoulder of the case and could be used manually or could be hooked up to a power drill. Quite a few people recommended it and prefer the Possum Hollow trimmer over auto trimmers.

The price from Midway is $21 for the trimmer and $10 for the power adapter. I figured for < $40 shipped it was worth trying. I received my trimmer today and trimmed and deburred 100+ cases in short order. To say it was effortless compared to a crank turning trimmer is an understatement. I am extremely happy with the results and would highly recommend them. Unfortunately Possum Hollow only makes their trimmers for a handful of cases so I will still need to purchase a manual cranked trimmer but for now this will suffice.

Here are some pictures of the PH trimmer.

Indeed a great tool. I have the same setup. Trims my .223 in no time and came ready to trim 223 straight out of the package (within measurements)

Have them in 204, 223 & 308. I use them for backup when a need to run a small batch instead of changing cutters on my Giraud.

I have one in 223 and 30-06. Really like them. Far quicker than the Lee setup I had before. It does leave a ring around the case, but I might be doing something wrong.

yep a small rub mark but doesnt hurt anything

mine does feel like is has gotten a tad dull after 1000 rounds

i wonder if i can switch the cutter with a 308 one since it is only wore out in the 30 cal area and the 223 one is only wore out in the 22 area

i like how its power adapter fits my lyman deburring just like it was made for it

my lee crap is retired sick of the shells coming loose

The new ones have a carbide blade while the older ones did not.

I bought one in 30.06. I adjusted it and then used it on several hundred cases. Thet came out very inconstistant. About 50 ended up waaay!! too short and about 100 too long. That is not very good odds for when you are doing 300 rounds. The longs ones I was able to do over and about half of those came up short so I switched machines to my Lyman cas trimmer.

It definantely is quicker. If you know how to get the bugs out of it and make it work right let me know. I want to give it a second change. Time to hit the range and pick up lots of berdan brass to practice with before I go use my good boxer brass.
