I have used the lee loader in the past with no problems.

    It worked good, just slow.

These work fine, slow but for a rifle they will load up 20 rounds quick enough. I loaded hundreds of rounds with one when I was a kid and all went bang.
A scale would make a nice addition so you can have more powder options, and a priming tool will make priming easier.

Works fine for me. Load is lighter than factory so you don't feel like you are catching a donkey kick each time you pull the trigger. I bought a similar hammer for $10 with soft and hard rubber.
        1) eye and ear protection
        2) you use the right powder
        3) make sure your primers are properly seated or your priming rod will go flying *ask me how I know*
        4) case is fully seated when neck resizing. This does not check for length so you'll need other tools.
With over 200 reloads using it I've only had 2 primers detonate when seating because I did not check the placement.
With all this "gun control" talk, I've not heard one politician say how they plan on taking guns from criminals, just law abiding Citizens.

they work well enough. slow, but effective. not a bad way to learn the process. get yourself a manual. the lee one is ok. i like hornady and lyman better. if you have more questions post in the ammo and reloading section.

It is available at Midway USA for 21.99 + shipping. Just a head's up.

Go hit youtube and search for lee loader. There are several videos on there about how to use them. If you are just reloading for one rifle, and don't really plan on investing in a lot of reloading equipment, they are a very economical way to go. If you also get some .308 or .311 lead free bullets, you can set up hunting loads to use in the pain in the @$$ condor areas.

If you want something cheap and simple, this next step up is a much better choice:

A Lee Loader will load only one type of cartridge. By using standard reloading dies the Lee Hand Press will let you reload many different cartridges. If you later buy a full-size bench-mounted press you can use the same dies.
              Revolvers are not pistols

pistol nouna handgun whose chamber is integral with the barrel
Calling a revolver a "pistol" is like calling a magazine a "clip", calling a shotgun a rifle, or a calling a man a woman.

I started with one Lee Loader and got several and then a Lee Turret Press. I love both systems. I keep thinking I should sell off the Lee Loaders, but they are soooo easy to use . . . I still find myself just use them on 20 rounds . . . even though the turrets are there for quick change of calibers.

I guess they're so simple and portable . . . great to bring to the range to work up a new load!!

I bought a Lee loader for an obscure caliber and it really helped me to understand all the steps involved in reloading. Then I bought the next version up, the Hand Press (which I call the thighmaster) and loaded up a couple. Later I bought a full Hornady setup and now load 12 calibers...

For creating different loads and trying different bullets/powders, it would be great. But for loading 1000 of the same thing, probably not...

i started out with one of those in 30 carbine

the little scoop never made a load that would function my carbine in any of the powders it suggested

the way they want you to put in a primer is a tad scary (wham case from sizing die onto primer)

i prefer to smack the case out of the sizer then tappy tappy the case onto the primer in its tool

It's a good way to start. If you like reloading you can move on from there.

                      I've never reloaded 7.62 x 54R but I have done .222/.243/ and .308

My first Lee Loader is 7.62x54r and it worked just fine . . .

I purchased most of my dies and even the press from other Calgunners. Some just wanted to get rid of their new setup because they either decided it wasn't for them because of time or they just didn't like it!

Your first Lee Loader is a very inexpensive "test" for whether you truly want to "invest" more $ . . .

This exactly how I got started in reloading, now I load .30carbine, .30-06, .308, 7.62x39 7.62x54, 5.45x39, .303 brit, 8mm, 5.56, 6.5 and 7.7 arisaka, plus like 4 pistol calibers, probably forgot a rifle caliber as well. and cast .36 cal round balls, .45, .308 and .311 lead bullets

I started with one in 12ga when I was 10 years old but then got a RCBS Rockchucker kit when I started reloading pistol/rifle stuff to go with my regular shotgun reloader. The Lee did not last long as I wanted more and knew I would be a reloader.

Reloading let me shoot more but never "saved" me any money.

I had one and it broke! In my opinion they are junk! and so is their hand primer and dies.
Over all you are going to try and same money but pay more at the end, get a RCBS it costs just a bit more.
