38 special receipe for 130 gr. fmj and HP 38

Well, I've searched high and low and can't find load data for a 130 grain fmj bullet using HP38 or it's twin brother W231...I checked the Hogden load data, the "one book one caliber" for the 38 special, The Lyman book and several on line sources...everyone shows 125 and 140 fmj but no 130 except for a cast lead bullet. If anyone has some load data I'd really appreciate it...I'm a bit new at handgun loading to start "creating" loads from other weight bullets..any help really appreciated.
    thanks

Opos I've checked my Speer #13 manual and the closest bullet weight is 125 gr TMJ. Nothing mentioned about HP-38 but Win 231 is listed at 5.6 grs. for the 125 gr. bullet weight and OAL of 1.435".

One note though, Speer indicated "DNR" (do not reduce) the 5.6 grs. for the jacketed load.

Yep, you can use the data for the next heaviest bullet as your starting load.

I did this when developing my light .38 Spl load that uses the Lee 105gr LSWC "boolit". Ironically, Lee's own reloading manual provides no data for their own boolit! So, I called up Patrick out there and asked him, and he confirmed the above advice. You'll have a slight drop from the listed pressure, thus pretty much guaranteed not to blow up your gun. I started from that point and tuned the load from there.
