    Lee Pro 1000 Issue...

Everything is set up and kind of working on it. The only thing is that the primers keep wanting to flip when the are about to seat in the primer pocket a and are jamming up the system. Happens every 5 or so rounds. Would really like some help fixing this problem so I can really get some reloading done..
    Thanks

Use an airgun and blow the area off, then ensure the shell plate is centered.

yea, we were using canned air to do that. It shouldn't be having those problems. I'll look up those vids.

Problems with the pro 1000 has been brought up many times in this forum and other forums as well. I do own one and I believe its the achilies heel with this loader. Some people have no issues with it but most do. Im one of them. I got sick and tried messing around with mine trying to make it work that I gave up with the priming system all together. I now decap my brass on a single stage then hand seat the primers using a Lee hand priming tool. I removed the decap pin on the sizing die and whala! Priming problem solved. Yes it takes more time and a couple of extra steps but its well worth it to me. It also gives me a chance to inspect my brass at the same time. No more removing the press from my bench to clean out the spent primers ether. I hope you get yours to work properly but if it wont run right. Try my fix to the problem. Happy shootin---

Hpoe it works out William. One thing I forgot to mention is that I use a decap die on the single stage to punch the primers. They dont cost much ether. I use this one. >>>>>>> http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct...tNumber=136543

I had the same problem and this is how I had to solve it to. Other then the primer issue it works good for the rest of the reload process.

I like to seat my own primers too even though Im the lucky one with no issues. I just like the extra step of having the ability to check my brass for cracks or loose primer pockets. After all, its my face, arms, hands thats at risk.

Sounds like a dirty primer feed mechanism. I get flipped primers too whenever mine gets dirty, so a good cleaning should solve that problem. And just because it "looks" clean doesn't necessarily mean it is clean. My .45 Colt press came with a very thin film of oil on my priming mechanism. Gotta get that off if it's there. Interestingly, my .38/357 press did not have that oil on it. Go figure.

However, after it's been cleaned, it works GREAT for many thousands of rounds. I always prime on my Pro 1000's.

Hey Cowboy. I've watched your video series. I really appreciate you taking the time to make them. I know a lot goes into producing those. It looks like I'm going to have to wash the shell plate and alum cast part as well as the little primer spring area really well to fix it.

Yes, that's the best thing. First with solvent, then with a lot of good, warm, soapy water. Give everything the toothbrush treatment. You want that entire thing so clean you could eat off of it.
