Bullet Info?

I'm getting started to get into reloading (winter hobby). I've come across some bullets and I can't seem to find any information about them online. I don't even know what alloys they're made out. So knowing what mix to use for reloading with them kind of makes me nervous. I tried various Google searches and came up with nothing. I even tried emailing Winchester but they never replied.

Things I do know: made by Winchester, will work in a .308, 150 gr, model S.T. (whatever that means).

ST seems like soft tip.

They look like standard 150gr flat bottom jacketed bullets. Starting load and work up. But someone else will be right along shortly, to confirm or deny.

Thanks for the assist Joelogic. I couldn't get the pics to work for some reason. Soft tip, so that means lead-core?

Most bullets are lead core.

Sounds like I'm going to have a whole lot of range bullets then (SoCal, no lead). Thanks for the info.

Socal doesnt allow steel core or anything that attracts a magnet.

I think the S T means silver tip -- I think the actual tip is aluminum.
150 gr flat nose made for 30/30 tubular mag. will work in most anything though.

Sorry I wasn't thinking of steel, I was thinking of that Condor we all know and love that won't let me hunt with my lead ammo. That's the MAIN reason I'm learning and trying to reload.

If its aluminum I'm all set.

I know why they dont allow steel core, I just didnt get he was talking about no lead for hunting.

Those condor safe bullets are expensive.

I just finished loading some .308 for myself. 150gr FMJ with 46grs of 748, my FAL loves 'em.
