    Can you say OOPPPSSSS?!?!?!

I loaded some .308 for long distance shooting (1000yd+). I thought I had everything figured out and was doing fine with everything. Well somehow the stupid primer decided it wanted to blow right out of the case when I fired the last ones I did. I did like 60 of the shells this way and somehow got the powder from 43gr to 47gr?!?!?!?! OOPPPSSSSS, can you say a little to much powder??? Goes to show check recheck and triple check as your doing these.

47.0grs of what? even with 43.0grs and a 175SMK that is too light for me.. maybe 44.5gr (Varget is what I use for 308)for 1K, but I'd still have to crono it...

Ya what powder was it? 47 grains can be 7+ grains over the max or 3 grains under the max... Pretty wide gap in there!

+1 on Varget in my .308's.. meters well and burns clean...

And your guess would be correct. Max grain is suppose to be 43 and I got well beyond that I think. It groups fantastic but blew a couple of the primers right out and left a nice little imprint of the face of the bolt. But from factory ammo it went way high and a little left but was right on every time.
