    Request for load data to replicate 175Gr FGMM

    Just collecting reference information as i'm aware this is not the process for finding the best load for a specific rifle.

    What is your load for the 175Gr SMK using IMR4064?

    My current load for 168Gr SMK is 42.5Gr IMR4064 w/ CCI BR-2 Primer and brass from factory FGMM. Darn accurate.

    Using the same for 175Gr SMK also works great for me. This of course approaches the max load in the Sierra manual.

    I pulled a page out of the Army Manual .308

    For long range rounds, and they were refering to 173gr match....It called for 44gr of wcc 846 or 4895 with an AOL of 2.84 I tried these and they worked fine. There was no pressure build up on the primers. I have about 6000 of the old 173gr bullets Got them for 9 cents a piece. Now what are those SMK 175's going for?????

      For the 175's basically you need to get the velocity as close to 2650fps as you can.. you can go over a tad but not too much... 2700fps would be the absolutely max I'd go

        I move the 175 SMKs at 2750-2800 fps out of a 26" barrel. That's *about* 2650-2700 in a 24".
