    Walmart Milpitas Ammo?

How much they sell for a 45acp ammo like 50/box or 100/box?

Nobody in sporting goods is picking up the phone.

The Wallmart in Mountain View was selling .45 acp $17 for a box of 50 ... if you can catch them just when the shipment comes in. I got lucky one day and the ammo cabinet was empty, but after 5 minutes an employee showed with boxes of the stuff.
He said you gotta get there before either of two guys show up, both of which will buy all the popular calibers up. One guy owns a range and will gladly sell it to you at twice the price at the range, the other guy will happily sell it to you at twice the price on eBay. Then there is one guy who was a panic buyer and bought out all the .45 (Panic probably caused by the other two guys always keeping supplies low).

As far as I can tell Wallmart has the best ammo prices. They had a LOT of 9mm luger when I went in the other day. Honestly, I only buy new ammo when I want the brass for reloading! I bought 10 boxes of 9mm (10 bucks for 50 rounds) in anticipation of a new pistol. (I don't have any range pickups in 9mm ... yet)

Doesn't Walmart have a 6 box limit for ammo?

Cabela's $40/100 Round Winchester White Box shipped to your front door. No tax, $5 shipping. Should ship around the first of next month.

Great deal since the past six trips I have made to various Walmarts have only discovered that they are out of .45 ACP.

re: Walmart 6 box limit. Not in that store, I bought 6 boxes of .45 and 10 boxes of 9mm. A friend of mine swooped in and got 10 boxes of .45 as well. And like I said, some guys came in and bought all their stock of the popular calibers.

The only reason I could see Walmart limiting purchases is so that people will come into the store to buy ammo and expecting there to be some, as opposed to thinking "Ah, it's all cleared out by those ammo scalpers, I won't go to Walmart". But on the other hand, if Walmart wanted to sell out their entire stock...why not?

If they could I'm sure they would try and keep even more stock of it to sell to the high demand. But I think ammo at that price is such a low margin that they have better things to keep in mind, like milk or whatever that EVERYONE might buy, not just sportsmen.
