    Remmy 700 range report

Ok guys here is pics of the targets that I shot with my measurements and OnTarget measurements. I have a Remmy 700 SPS Tactical with 5r take off stock, EGW 20MOA base, Warne Mid rings, Hawke 4.5-14x42 scope and Harris Swivel Bi-pod.

THIS IS ALL @ 100 YARDS.........................

The rounds that I know were flyers i did not include in the measurements you should be able to see that in the pics. I also have all the info on the reloads and weather written on the target for those of you that want to try out the loads
    enjoy!

Count everything if you are doing groups of 3 or 5. Heck if I remove an errant shot here and there I would conisder myself Topshot but alas consistency is also part of the game.

Hey, that is in Lincoln. Not common to find good test conditions out there, except in the early morning.

These reloads I reloaded real quick. I usually shot 5 shot groups. As for the fliers I did not count them because I knew that i made a mistake the minute i pulled the trigger. I was I guess over excited hehehe. But trust me I know how to do it to see if my rifle shoots like a champ. What happened was I lost my info that I had for previous good loads so now I started to save stuff on my computer. The groups that I counted all the shots for were shots that i knew were shot like I'm supposed to shoot. Now I know the sweet spot for my varget and 4064 again.

I was only trying out new loads ! I know how to do it. Now all I have to do is reload the loads that proved good and shoot bigger groups. I'm thinking about doing even 10-15 shot groups. Dont mean to sound like a jack *** here either I was just stating what I was aiming for. I think from looking at the targets I know where my rifle likes the loads.

Where are you shooting? im in Roseville and need to find a nice range for testing my mosin accuracy.

nice groups but always count your flyers with 5 shot groups. otherwise you wont push to get better. don't settle until you can put all 5 in the same hole.....nice start so far!!!!

Most civilization is based on cowardice. It's so easy to civilize by teaching cowardice. You water down the standards which would lead to bravery. You restrain the will. You regulate the appetites. You fence in the horizons. You make a law for every movement. You deny the existence of chaos. You teach even the children to breathe slowly. You tame.

I really like going to that range. I guess they will be moving to a place where there will be room for longer shooting distances. As for weather its not bad at all there was some wind there this last Saturday about 5-10 MPH NE but is was ok.

I just shot my rem700 sps for the first time tonight.
I never really been a guy shooting for MOA, but with my first bolt action and 20rds of .308 147gr I was shooting some .5"-1.2" groups. Pretty good for my first time trying and now i dont need to wonder if my own bedding job was good or not

This is part of ammo testing. Nobody breaks perfect shots every time. Or wind conditions may have changed while shooting a group. Sometimes it is the fault of the load or the gun. Sometimes it something else. It is those who can discern those factors that open up the groups, who will make wise choices when selecting load combinations.

Groups of 10-15 shots tell you almost nothing. Too many extraneous factors are involved to learn much, particularly out past 100 yards. A 5 shot group will tell you almost everything you need to know about the gun/ammo combo.
