Ordering Ammo Online to Orange County

Does anyone know why we need to go through a FFL to purchase ammo from online retailers in Orange County? I have purchased from some retailers before but am now getting rejected. I have also seen comments that the entire state of CA is moving in this direction in 2011.

What gives with this state?

The vendors are spooked by AB 962, which Gov. SchwarzeTRAITOR signed into law, and which takes effect in February 2011. In some cases, the vendors are choosing, on principle, to stop mail-order sales of ammo to California. And I can't say I blame 'em.

AB 962, when it takes effect, will require you not only to purchase ammo face-to-face from an FFL, but your purchase will be logged in the State's databases presumably forever. Also, you will be required to submit to a thumb-print. This is EACH TIME you want to purchase ammo.

The solution is three-fold:

1.) Learn to reload your own, my friend. Stock up on powder, primers, brass, and projectiles now. If you can, also learn how to cast your own. None of this is hard to do.

2.) If you travel to Oregon, Nevada, or Arizona, buy ammo there. Even better, buy it at your local gun show. You will still be able to until Feb 1, 2011.

3.) Vote out these anti-American clowns like Kevin deLeon and anyone else who voted for this totalitarian, evil bill to become law. Actively campaign against said folks. And only vote for someone who has a demonstrated pro-2A record, AND will state for the record that he/she will proactively work to get rid of AB 962--or anything else like it--from the books.

Sportsmanguide sent me 2 cases of 7.62x54 no problem to Irvine. I have ordered from them in the past in WA as well. You should be good to go with them.

I am just wondering why the NRA and these out of state (california) venders don't get together and try to end the prohibition in California to intersate commerce. California is after all the eigth largest economy on the world. In Sacramento (city only) we need to surrender thumb print each time we purchase. However venders refuse to ship even though it is totally legal to buy ammo in the county and other suburbs in and around Sacramento without complying with the socialist Sacramento City Council rules.

I am all for supporting local venders which I do and would do even if I wasn't impeaded from interstate commerce but it would nice to take advantage of periodic sale prices with out having to see "NO SALES TO CALIFORNIA" or driving to another state to excersize rights guaranteed by "The Bill of Rights"

I found it once, and can't find it again, but there is a letter from the Sacramento city attorney that states that internet sales to Sacramento are in fact legal. The thumbprint is only necessary for face to face sales in local stores.
