    Chronograph... What one to get?

I'm looking for a chronograph to get. I was told by someone I trust to get an infared on so it's not effected by light. He also told me one around 200 will work too, no need to spend several hundred more that 2. I'm only gonna be using it outside atthe range, I don't have a lab top, I would like to have something that i can read on the bench, remote view, I don't need a printer if it doesn't just come with one.
    What company is good, best?
    What model are good?
Anything have great bang for buck?
    What should I get?

    Easy answer: CED M2

nice large display (very important to me)
good software hooks up by USB
infrared skyscreen option (which I have not needed)

My first was a shooting chrony. I think it's the easiest to setup and use. I now have a ced2. It works good, only that readings can be easily affected by the amount of light or where it's setup. It's more 'touchy' than the chrony but it's got features that the chrony doesn't. The chrony is an easy setup and go unit.

I bought a Shooting Chrony F1 Master because I needed an inexpensive tool to help me with load development. I didn't want to spend a bunch of money on something I won't be using much after I'm happy with my handloads. With the readout/display box right next to me, all I have to do is write down the shot number and velocity. I didn't feel the need to pay another $100 to have a printer or have the machine tell me my Ave/ES/SD. I just take a little time to calculate it myself when I get home. I'll admit, those features do sound nice, I'd just rather spend $100 on loading components.

make sure you have a quality tripod to set it up on, if it falls over, before you can shoot through it, that sucks. I got a decent tripod @ the Salvation army, 30 years old, made in Japan for $20.

Or how do you guys set them up?

Never heard of the cem m2, but the CED M2 has worked flawlessly for me for couple of years (except for the time it got shot by the guy in the next lane and I had to replace the skyscreen, now I try to keep it a little closer so that doesn't happen again).

CED M2 is my choice.. But I do have issues outdoors around noon. If the sunlight gets straight down into the sensor I lose shots.

Sounds like you got lucky with the tripod. I have a cheap Kmart special that I put sandbags on to keep it from tipping in the breeze. Wife makes them out of rice and heavy stretchy socks.

Oh, and plus whatever for the CED M2!
