    What bullets should I get?

I need to get some more bullets (.45, .40) and am trying to decide what to get. In the past I reloaded 230grn FMJ for the .45 and 135grn RN for the .40. I'm just target shooting right now, but eventually want to try some steel challenge events.

Should I just go for the cheapest bullets just to punch holes in the paper, or is there something that justifies the extra $0.01 to $0.02 per bullet for the heavier grains?

If you're not shooting a Glock, I would recommend using Bear Creek moly-coated lead bullets. I really like the way they load and shoot.
I normally use 185gr LSWC for 45 and 155gr LSWC for the 40. Good accurate results.

For practice ammo, I use my own cast "boolits". The Cowboy Action Shooters do this all the time. At handgun shooting distances, you're not really going to see much, if any, difference between expensive and cheap projectiles if you've developed a good load with them.

        Ditto the Bear Creek molys.

Or like the man said, anything you get a good deal on.

You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart.
You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion."
