Any disadvantage to reloading nickel brass?

not for pistol brass except for a somewhat shorter case life, nickle rifle brass can have very ruff texture inside the neck.

I've reloaded A batch of Hornady nickle brass... now on the third reload and no signs of weakness... so I say use them, just inspect them. I also like how shined up they get after a tumble.
Although it's nickle, there's also brass in there (from what I've read), so they resize like the rest... but just won't last as long.

I've loaded them 5 times so far. no issues but I also load on the lighter side.

I just like that they look aedile when loaded ad they tumble half the time as brass.

All the federal nickel brass a buy comes from police shooting ranges so that means that at least some departments are usin it as their duty ammo which I think is a good thing.

Not thinking about it until you just mentioned it, that it makes perfect sense.
Nickle is not as soft as brass... so it won't get caught up on the barrel lugs and hence, feed smoother. I've noticed "lug" wear on my brass from feeding in my AR.

Nickel is usually used in defensive ammo, that is why the police ranges have nickel plated brass. It is more resistant to corrosion, sweat etc. It has nothing to do with necessarily being better.

I do like the way it shines up and it probably does feed better. But is is also brittle. My nickel plated .357 brass splits sooner then non-plated brass.

That has been my experience. I prefer regular brass with the .357 and .44 magnum. The Nickel plated is OK on .45 as there is minimal pressure.

If I was buying new I would definitely not buy Nickel.

it works jus the same it wears thin after a few loadings i dont like how it makes a bag of reloads look kind of cheap when you have nickel in with the brass

I like using nickel just because its easyer to spot "my" casings at the outdoor range.

What calibers do you reload? I have 4000 .40 and 1000 .45 I was thinking of getting rid of.

Well, if your interested I would sell the .45 for $55 per K and the .40 for $40 per K. It has been tumbled clean enough for it to be sorted. let me know.

The only issues I have had with nickel brass, have been sizing 10mm to 9x25 Dillon. The nickel stuff seems to be more brittle, and the neck splits either while sizing or belling. I'm guessing that goes for making 357sig cases from 40 brass too.

I use nickel brass for my lead-free reloads in .223, 30-06 and .303.
Makes 'em impossible to confuse with other ammo.

Sounds like a fair price to me but I think I'm pretty well stocked at the moment. I'll check and let you know if I do need anything. Are they all nickel?
