Is there anything else you HAVE to buy to handload say 30.06 with a Lee classic loader? Does it resize?

Classic lee Loader <----turnkey solution?

Other than what is in the kit you just need a plastic hammer. The lee loader neck sizes the case only. What that means is that you can use it in the rifle you originally fired the case in only, and it isn't suitable for Semi-Auto rifles, those cases need to be full length sized. -
Is it the primer seating or the bullet seating step that makes people nervous?
I have used a Lee Loader and I think they are cool. It gives one a feeling of self sufficiency. Kinda like the modern version of mountain men sitting around the fire and pouring lead balls, etc. You can reload right on the tailgate and keep shooting.Comment

Ah yes... the good ole days!
I guess it's still better than pouring powder down the barrel, shoving a lead ball down and then hoping it'll ignite with the flintlock... all while someone's shooting at you.Eat what you kill... unless it's a zombie.

You would also want to get the following to trim the cases:
And a set of calipers to check the bullet seating depth.Comment

"Have" to buy ---Not really, you can chamfer case with a pen knife but a set of verniers are quite handy -- check cases for length and such. When, and if, case gets too long either trim or set aside the case till you get a trimmer.
Overall cartridge length for a given bullet can be determined by trial and error using a dummy round.
You have about the minimal needed, all else is convenience and speed -
I am with bohoki on the priming, never liked swatting a primer in -- Though it is and has been done with no real catastrophes for many years.

I have had more than just a couple go off and it don't really rattle me. Just a loud bang. Well... more of a pop with some bang in it, really. It does still piss off Mrs LGB if I am doing them in the family room like I sometimes do around the holidays.the priming step scares the bejebus out of me just something gives me the willies about using a hammer to install a primer
I think eveyone should have at least one set in straight wall such as 38 spcl or 357 Mag and if you have a bolt 308 or 30-06, by all means, it is a good little tool set to have.
I would not want to load a stockpile of ammo with them, although I have loaded quite a few with them. If you need a box or so, this will do as it has done for quite some time.

in the instructions they want you to wham the case out of the sizer on to the primer
well i just wham the case out of the sizer back into the deprimer then lightly tappy tap the case on to the primer with the primer tool
but i only have the 30 carbine one and it takes some force to get it out of the sizerComment
